Portsmouth boss Harry Redknap has offered Ireland u21 international Marc Wilson a new two year contract to keep him at Fratton Park.

Highly-rated Wilson has been offered the two-year deal after impressing on loan at Bournemouth during the second half of the season.

Speaking from Fratton Park yesterday Peter Storrie said  "This week we also have offered a two-year deal to Marc Wilson.Contract offers have been made to the players we want to keep and that's all you can do. We are now waiting for them to come back to us.'

The new deal on offer to Lurgan born Wilson is testament to his outstanding performances for Bournemouth.The 19-year-old initially arrived at the Fitness First Stadium on a one-month loan deal but he impressed so much it was extended to the end of the season.

In all, he made 19 appearances and scored three goals as he inspired Kevin Bond's side to League One safety and Storrie is keen for the youngster to remain at Fratton Park.

He said: 'Marc is one of the young ones we want to keep and we have made him an offer this week.

'He's done very well at Bournemouth so we want to keep him  and see how it goes. We don't want to let him go too soon.

'We definitely want him to stay – he's a very promising player.'
