Yogi prepared to wait for Stokes

Falkirk manager John Hughes admits he is "caught between a rock and a hard place" as he waits on Anthony Stokes to decide his future.

Stokes returned to Arsenal at the turn of the New Year after a successful loan spell with the Bairns in which he scored 16 goals.

Celtic, Sunderland and Charlton have been linked with the teenager, but Gunners manager Arsene Wenger admits a full season in the SPL would benefit the Republic of Ireland Under-21 international.

So Hughes says he is willing to wait before looking at other deals in the January transfer window in the hope Stokes will return for the rest of the season

He said: "We are sitting tight for the next couple of weeks and if nothing happens then maybe we will get him back.

"I need to be fair to the club and I would have to go and sign another striker if I didn't think Anthony was coming back."
