Wolves Boss Mick McCarthy had every reason to smile today following Wolves trio of wins that has seen his side rise to 8th in the Coca Cola Championship.

And that has been in no small part thanks to one of his January signings, Stephen Ward.

Three goals in 4 games is testament to the natural goalscorers instinct that convinced McCarthy to bring Irishman Ward acoss the water from Bohemians, and he was quick to single out the young Irish international following yet another match winning performance.

Pouncing on a sloppy backpass, Ward squeezed in a shot from the left of the Ipswich area, firing in from the most acute of angles to settle the match, something Ward is making a habit of.

Talking to the clubs official site McCarthy said:

'The goal
was terrifically well taken by Wardy. He's been great in the last two games. His goal on Saturday was clever and, tonight, I don't know how he got it in.

'He chases lost causes and it pays off.'
