The Football Association of Ireland has today announced that Ireland will play Denmark in a senior international friendly on August 22, 2007, in Aarhus, Denmark.
This will be the 13th meeting between the two sides.
They last met in a friendly in Dublin in March 2002 when Ireland won 3-0, with goals from Ian Harte, Robbie Keane and Clinton Morrison. The captain for that game was current International Manager Stephen Staunton
Speaking after the news of the fixture Ireland manager Staunton said: "The Denmark game is at the start of the new season so it is a good opportunity to get the lads together ahead of the remaining qualifiers."
The game against Denmark is the only 2007 friendly confirmed for the senior squad. Talks are ongoing with a number of countries but nothing has yet been agreed.
